She is survived by his mother Arlene Murray, Leroy, NY, two sisters, Kathleen (Jeffrey) Fritz of Lawrenceville, Pa., and Jacqueline (Shawn) Leroy Kelly, and two nieces, Tara and Kelly Suzianna Fritz, two nephews, Devyn Kelly and Todd (Lee) Fritz, three aunts, Alberta, Cuda, Dorothy Buchannon, and Carol Bovee, one uncle, Keith Dalrymple, companion, Steve Oakley. Elmira College Teams up with Chemung County Humane Society & SPCA
Student teams put into practice the lessons they learned in a Marketing Planning class and other marketing courses by consulting, researching, writing, and presenting a written 2011 Marketing Plan Proposal. Course emphasis was placed on problem solving by use of case analyses and the preparation of the actual marketing plan for an “actual” business. In working with the Humane Society, students expressed several ideas that the organization could implement right into next years’ business plan. They worked closely with the company’s Public Relations Department and the Executive Director in order to gain a better understanding of the situation, as well as took part in community service to offer further assistance. “We were blown away by the students’ work. There were a lot of wonderful ideas that we are currently looking to implement. It was an amazing experience working with these students because they made us delve further into our company in order to help them with their market plans,” said Barbara McLean, Executive Director of the Chemung County Humane Society and SPCA.Last year, Elmira College has partnered with the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. Students have developed an online questionnaire to measure public attitudes towards charities in general, specific charities, and the food bank. Students then studied how these attitudes varied by demographic characteristics. With the data collected, students have created marketing plans for several of the food bank account.
