More wet weather expected for Arkansas
— Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue to track southeastward across portions of the state today and tonight.
A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for 45 counties until 5 p.m. today. Already, strong showers and thunderstorms have pushed through central Arkansas and are now hitting southern Arkansas with heavy rain, particularly Jefferson County.
The National Weather Service in Little Rock says there is a possibility for some severe storms, which may include damaging winds, hail and heavy rainfall.
Over the weekend, a northwest flow will prolong the chances of showers and thunderstorms over much of the state. Damaging winds will be the greatest possible threat with the weekend storms, although hail and heavy rainfall is possible as well.
The storms will bring a cold front southward through the state, which may provide cooler and drier conditions early next week.
