Green Mountain Rock Crushers unveil schedule - Jay Peak Ski Condo ...
Vermont, which is in its inaugural season in the 2-year-old Federal Hockey League, will battle seven teams for the Commissioner’s Cup in a 53-game regular season.
“We are expecting the 2011-12 season of Green Mountain Rock Crushers hockey to be an exciting one, with all the elements in place to be a truly outstanding team,” General Manager and Director of Hockey Operations Andy Makal said in a statement.
He said the Green Mountain Arena will provide an “unbeatable atmosphere” and will be “one of the most exciting buildings in the FHL.”
When the team was announced in March, it had planned to play at Jay Peak, but the chance to play in Morristown provides a larger available fan base.
In addition to the Rock Crushers, the league has the Cape Cod Bluefins, Danville Dashers, Thousand Islands Privateers, Brooklyn Aviators, Danbury Whalers, New Jersey Outlaws and the defending champion Akwesasne Warriors.
Season tickets for the Rock Crushers are $299 per seat, and flex packages are available. Season ticket packages also include right of first refusal for playoff games. Family packages will be announced later.
Makal said the Rock Crushers will hold several promotions throughout the season, including a Pink in the Rink Night for breast cancer awareness and military appreciation night.
The Rock Crushers kick off their inaugural season Oct. 28 on the road against the Akwesasne Warriors and will play host to the Warriors the following night in the home opener in Morristown.
Vermont also will have two special games at the Androscoggin Colisee in Lewiston, Maine, the former home of the Lewiston MAINEiacs of Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
